Cornish Events to WOW!

St Ives is the perfect place to base yourself to discover a little of what the rest of Cornwall has to offer, and Cornwall’s event calendar is jam-packed with showstoppers throughout 2020! Here’s a few of our favourites – see you there!

Eden Ice Skating
You best hurry and book that wintery weekend break, because this one ends in February. The Eden Project hosts Cornwall’s only indoor ice rink. Tie it in with a look around the wonderful warm rainforest and Mediterranean biomes.

Porthleven Food Festival
Immerse yourself in a cocktail masterclass whilst you soak up the live jazz sessions at Cornwall’s Porthleven Food Festival (April 17-19th). With celebrity chef demonstrations, inspirational local food and a pop-up Port and Oyster pub – what a delicious weekend away!

Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival
If you loved the 2019 Fisherman’s Friends film then you’ll love this festival of traditional sea shanties…and some with a more modern twist! The festival runs alongside a sailing regatta so enjoy being surrounded by gorgeous classic sailing boats to give you a real taste of Cornish coastal life.

Mevagissey Week
This pretty harbourside village hosts a bustling festival with a weeklong celebration in June featuring live music, raucous parades and afloat races, all rounded off with an incredible fireworks display.

Lusty Glaze Sessions
Lusty Glaze provides a picturesque setting for phenomenal live sessions. With Symphonica and DJ Mr Switch duo announced as their first headline act in 2020, we can expect the rest of the soon to be announced line up to be truly amazing!

Fowey Regatta Week
For one week in August, Fowey town is immersed in a Royal Regatta which is one of the premier sailing events in the country. From boats that will take your breath away to nail biting afloat races and champagne award giving events, it’s a fabulous, buzzing week for all the family.

Heritage Open Days
A celebration of architecture and Cornish culture in September where during these Open Days you can enjoy free admission to historic properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for entry. A very special time to experience your roots and those that Cornwall is built on today.

Looe Live
A September spectacular where the beautiful coastal town of Looe comes alive with the Looe Live music festival. With international headline acts, the best new talent from BBC Introducing and seafront dancing, it’ll set your soul alight.

Padstow Christmas Festival
This Christmas festival is one of the UK's largest and is our favourite place to come do Christmas shopping. From famous chef demonstrations and foodie delights from local producers, the food and crafts promise to deliver unique Christmas presents for all the family. Mulled wine anyone?

New Years at St Ives
New Year in St Ives is infamous! The streets come alive with street parties, live music, fireworks, impromptu samba bands and food stalls. Fancy-dress is often donned by locals and visitors alike, so be sure to wave at any Cornish sea monsters or marvel heroes joining you in the pub bar!
